NLTS problems

Postby drago-dsm » Mon Jul 12, 2010 7:49 am

Tried to connect the clutchswitch to ecu +. I Followed the instruction - "Tap the black wire and connect it to the white, group A wire on the ECU+ low current
harness." But I have not found 12 volt on a black wire. Has found them on the green wire. Then I have connected a green wire to white in group A. What you think i see? all works in invert mode. when pedal is pressed in - clutch status - released , when pedal released - it shows - pressed in.

Has measured a multimeter when pedal is pressed in - 12 volt, when pedal released - 0.
why? What i can make with it to make it work right?

At the time that I did the clutch switch work, I didn't have a DSM to verify how it worked, so I asked some folks here:

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=217&start=60

In that thread it seems like I had confirmation of ground on the black wire when pressed, and +12v when released. So, I'm not sure why your car is different. Any ideas?

I guess if needed, I could create a special version of the firmware that inverts that value, but I'd really like to get to the bottom of the problem.

from nlts topic

"....The black/white wire is on the top and has 12 volts when the clutch pedal is out. When you press the clutch pedal down it switches and the green/black wire has 12 volts. (I tapped the green/black wire to activate the 2-step on a MSD DIS-4."

All about green wire is true. as you see, green wire have inert volts mode than black. But i have 0 volts on black wire on any pedal position.

So, It would be great to have a check box in software with invert pedal position of nlts feature.

Has measured once again. Here truthful results. Constant 12 volts !!! on black wire on any pedal position and on green -when pressed in - 12 volt, released - 0 volt.

i don't know why my switch works invert  .

So I require in a special version of the firmware that inverts that value. can you do it for me?

my car - 1G GSR-4 1990.

I asked the friend on the Talon. he has connected to black wire, nlts works fine.

E-mail me at support@ecuplus.com and tell me what firmware version you have. I'll make a special version for you that inverts that line and e-mail it back to you.

The best solution would be to make that line software configurable, but introducing configuration changes is the one thing I can't do within a given firmware/software version.
