Installing FIC 1150cc injectors

Postby 98TSi » Thu Feb 28, 2008 5:51 pm

Well I maxed out my 750cc injectors and need to step up. If I just leave 750cc typed in for my injectors size and adjust all my fuel trims accordingly I should be fine correct? Even though you can only select 780cc as your biggest one's.

Those are huge. I'm not sure you can make that size injector work with the ECU+. What's your current WHP or drag time?

Current WHP is 589 but going to a sc6176 and shooting for 650.

I don't know about 1150's but I don't see why it should be such a big deal going bigger than 780's. With +/- 50% available on the fuel map it seems like you could go a long ways with the type of scheme suggested in this thread: http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=271
I've been thinking about using 880's and I keep thinking why not? What's the big deal? Could it be any worse than starting from scratch with a stand alone?
As far as the idle, I can understand the big injector has a hard time being precise at tiny little duty cycles. But why would ecu+ have any worse problem with that than any other piggy back, or even standalone? The real way to solve big injector idle problems as I understand is with a peak-and-hold injector driver (expensive box of electrical hardware), which just about nobody uses.
Would you run out of range on the timing map?
