p0340 code, car wont start after ecu+ & gm maf install H

Post by ries »

Installed the ECU+ this weekend along w/ a 3" GM MAS (blow through) and a 3 bar map sensor... Installed everything according to the manual and went to start my car but it wont start :x It turns over and will act like it wants to start but it wont. Its also throwing a P0340 code - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit. Ive double and triple checked everything but cant seem to find the culprit of this problem, anything that you can think of that might help out would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah, Its a IX if it matters and I disconnented the PNP harness and reconnected the stock harness and the car fired right up so I know there is something Im missing...help

might sound redundant, or obvious... but chaeck the CAS sensor wire splice in your wiring. That has to be the culprit. You might also want to change the settings in ecu+ to a evo CAS... maybe it's stuck on DSM or something. When you get a log w/ idle in it, post it over on the thread where I'm asking for idle logs, as well as if you have cams.

still no luck :x

double checked all my wiring and connections... Quick question, should the MAS Output wire (Group A, pin 4, orange wire) be putting out 5v when the key is turned to the "ON" position? It just doesnt seem right that its putting out 5v to the MAS when the car isnt even running.

I installed the map sensor yesterday and now I am having intermittent starting issues. and the Crankshaft Position Sensor code. I also just upgraded to the new software. What should I look at in the ECU+ and its wiring to see if I dislodged something (using a plug and play harness)

Oh and something else interesting happens while it won't start. The ecu+ will not connect to my computer. Once I try turning it over a few more times, the ecu+ connects up and then the car starts.

Double-check that the little black connector is plugged firmly into the ECU+ box. Also, inspect both sides of that connector and make sure that no wires have pulled out.

There are crank and cam sensor inputs and outputs from the ECU+ box. Check the ECU+ software -

1. Does the (input) RPM display a value? This tells you whether the crank sensor input is seeing a signal.
2. When the car is running, does the software say "Cam/crank bypassed" in the status line of the ECU+ Win software? This tells you whether both the crank sensor input and the cam sensor inputs are seeing the expected signal.
3. Use the above to test the inputs. If these are ok, then the outputs may be bad.

If you can't connect to the ECU+ box, then chances are the box isn't seeing +12v or ground on its power connector. A battery problem, maybe? Test the red and black power wires at the ECU+ box with a voltmeter.
