ECU map load

Postby vroomevo » Tue Sep 11, 2007 12:45 pm

So, finally i had time to play around with ECU+. was waiting for so many months and i was so busy for past 2 months.

great upgrade...it's like whole new ECU+.

question i have is...

ECU+ tracing ECUmap, how accurate is this, in terms of actual load vs calculated load?

b/c evom, they are all talking about 2-byte load. actual load and calculate load can be off upto 20's.

I'm using the formula for the load from MalibuJack. There is no "load" that you read from the stock ECU - you read the AFRMAP number and calculate load from that.

I would say the formula Tom is using is very good. I have been beta testing the map tracing and it has been lining up. I have also used the 2-byte mod with Evoscan and have seen the variance with it's simpler calculation. Tom is using a little bit more of a precise formula and reading the needed values directly from the ROM.

If I thought it could be more accurate, I would have presented that option to Tom.

But as with all logging, double check what was logged verse what is expected.

according to ECU+ map tracer, i am hitting like 260's till the redline with bad boost taper down to 1.2-3 bars.

when i was logging with 2byte load when i was doing GM boost solenoid-boost controller, i would hit like 250's during spool up and drops down to 230-240's till the redline. at this time, i had more solid boost, like 1.4-1.5bar till the redline.

only change i made so far was getting AVCR for the boost controller instead of GM boost solenoid(i don't know why I went back to EBC while i had good control with GM solenoid) and i have boost taper and i am still hitting 260's on ECU load.

i guess i will log with evoscan 2byte load and compare...

thanks for the input guys.

when you log the load which is from the AFR map via the eqn. from Jack (same as in ECU+) it can be up to 20 off from the 2-byte load read directly from the ecu.
