P0300 codes

Postby Sleeper8 » Mon Oct 08, 2007 11:09 am

I was wondering if anyone else is having this trouble. I keep getting the p0300, p0302,p0303 and this only happens when the car idles never at WOT only at idle. This has happen to me 6 time over this weekend and ether the car was in the drive way warming up and did this or when I just got back to the house and the car was cooling down it would pop the p0300 code. The code never comes on when the car is in WOT or just driven around, the codes always pop when the car is sitting. Could some one give me some insite on this. I know tom is working on the new softwear but I am getting really up set I have to keep resetting the ecu every time i want to drive the car.

Car is a 2003 evoIII
mods are
ECU+ silver box 2.05v
ACT 2600 street disc
3 inch turbo back
3 inch cat delet
greddy rs BOV
burshur evo 9 20g turbo 20psi
Slowboys front mount intercooler
walbro 255 pump
780cc injectors
3 inch GM MAF
air motive fuel pressure regulator
AEM ungo wide band
electronic fuel pressure gauge
boost gauge
oil gauge

all connection have been check on the ecu+ 4 times now.
Laptop has been fully wipe out and the only program is the ECU+ softwear

Any help on this would be great

Thank you

You have a lot of mods. Did it start happening after you put one of them on?

I don't even know what that code is. Is it for misfire?

Tom might be able to help you... but I'm one of the few (if not only) others who cant get the P0300 bug to go away. lol I finally just mounted an oil pressure gauge in front of the CEL.

Roger: P0300 is random mutiple cylinder misfire, and the numbers are for which cylinder: P0301 = misfire on cyl. 1.

I've got all those mods and more.. my car's been getting the P0300 from day one... what can I say though.. Tom's worked very hard to try to get rid of it.

Yes this has been going on ever since I installed the ECU+, and Tom has been working his butt off to get this fixed. I just wanted to make sure no one else has figure out how to fix this or if there was a problem with my car. This sounds like a issue with the ecu+?

Chris -

There's a few cars (like honki24's) that still get the P0300 with the v2.05 firmware (which fixed it for most). Are you saying that 1. the P0300 started when the ECU+ was first installed, and 2. the freeze frame data always shows it at idle? If so, that's an interesting case to me, so let's see what happens with the upcoming v2.10 firmware. Once that's out, maybe we can try some more debugging.

I never had a p0300 code untile the ECu+ plus was installed and I know you are woking on it. I know the only time it has went off was when I was in the drive way and the car not moving at all. So that is why I say it happens only at idle. my softwear is also freezing up and goes to a white screen when this happens

I've never got the code before in my life (neither before ecu+ nor after). So I guess only people with lots of mods get it?

I've only run my car for a little while, but I haven't seen it yet. I'll let you know what I found. I changed 3 things:
A) I copied the knock filter map from the "P0300 fix" rom into mine
B) I adjusted the TPS so that the ECU+ shows "idle" when I'm idling and doesn't keep bouncing up into "low"
C) I pulled out some timing at idle (down to ~7 degrees)

I'll keep you updated.

Seems someothing is still wrong w/ my 3-bar though... I always see "0 psi"... I don't have a voltmeter so I don't know what I'm going to do.

I just notice something. I have been running a mix of 110 and 93 half a tank of 110 and the rest 93. I ran the tank all the way down and just put 93 in and the p0300 codes have not pop up. So I am wondering if adding the race fuel is causing the issue. I will run out of this tank by tomorrow and I think I will try 1 more tank of 93 in and see what happens, if no codes I will then try to mix the gas agian and see if the codes come back. Sorry forgot to say this in the post. Could this be the problem??

Thanks

Hard to say. If the 100 octane caused the car to run rougher, then that might explain it.

lol... it came back. Never fear though, I'll try 2.10... whenever I get a chance to tune my OWN car again! lol. We've got some rediculous "tooners" around here. lol... these poor lancers.

You know? I really wish everyone had an ECU+ that I tune... life would be so easy. Trust me Tom, I push like coke.

Hello I have gotten the p0300 code many of time since the 110 gas has been ran out of the car I did notice the new softwear was out so I am going to try that tonight and get that to work. Tom I just want to tell you thank you for all your hard work. Another thing I can not wated for is going for the stock 7 bolt evo record, my buddy just broke the stock 6 bolt record of 585hp and 574ft the motor is totaly stock but one thing is the cams and that is what I am going for. of course he runs dsm link on his and he wants to try to break the record with the ecu+ with mine so now the new softwear is out we are going for it. We hope the motor holds together. With my knock only getting as high as .43 at 7000rpm I think we are good. Well going to add the new softwear and see what happens and if the codes do not pop agian we are going to put my cams in and away we tune. just on bolt ons so far we are at 426hp and 421ft that is on 93 and 21psi. So here goes the motor lol and good luck to everyone.

Thank you Tom

not to be a jerk... but if you have a "stock motor"... there's no way you're putting down that much. on 25psi w/ water/meth and a great tune I'm making 350whp on the stock 9.8 turbo. Aftermarket turbo is another thing altogether. Even the green will only get you ~450 max.

ah cool. Yeah the green can make just about that at the max. If you're using ECU+'s dyno feature... I'd reccomend going to a physical dyno for numbers. The ECU+ is good and it is great for comparison... but not perfect for bragging numbers, especially if you look to break a record. Enjoy man.
