I was putting the finishing touches on the firmware, and decided to try to sneak one more enhancement in before making a beta version. You know how it goes... everything takes longer than you think it will, so I'm still trying to get the slipped-in enhancement done.

THIS is why it's not a good idea to let an engineer decide when to ship something!

FYI I got this enhancement done and out to a coupl'a folks for beta testing. This is a additional attempt to tame the infamous P0300 that just a few people keep seeing. If it works, I'll roll it into the released v2.10. If not, well, no harm done.

I also completed one more feature (the infamous "last feature for v2.10"), and I'll announce that as soon as I get some more testing done on it.

Bottom line: I'm within spitting distance of being "done" with the software and firmware for v2.10. At this point, I'm just tying up the last of the TODOs hanging around in the software. Once that's cleaned up I'll do some more testing in my car and assuming all is well, I'll package up a beta for folks to beat on. Finally, the light at the end of the tunnel is visible!

All - FYI, I'm running all of the new software in my car, and it seems to be ok. I'm making the updates to the manual now, and once I get those updates done I'll release a beta of all of the new stuff.

Another update (or "why in the hell is all of this taking so long") on the version 2.10 release. I've been working on updating the ECU+ user's manual for like a week and a half now. All of the screenshots had to be re-done (lots of stuff changed), and I've added a significant amount of text to describe the new features. I also found a just-plain-doesn't-work bug in the software as I was working through the manual

The good news is I'm finally done updating the manual. Final tally:

112 freakin' pages
101 pictures or screenshots :o
1 awesome document 8)

So... what's left:

1. I have one more feature completed, but it needs to be tested. Probably just 1 night as this should work fine.

2. Write another document - Version 2.10 Upgrade.pdf. This will describe what existing customers must do, hardware and software-wise, to update to the new code.

3. Package up everything in the big Setup.exe file and tag it for release as the first beta.

It just can't be much longer. It just can't...

Exhausted Tom

Awesome. I've already made lots of progress with my car since I first got ECU+, and I'm also pretty eager to try out the new stuff.
