New features in the upcoming ECU+ firmware/software v2.15

Postby tlcoll1 » Tue Sep 22, 2009 12:24 am

Two years in the making, version 2.15 of the ECU+ firmware and software is done. Here's what's new:

1. Fuel and timing maps extended to 9000 RPM. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=649

2. Smoothing of graph values, configurable on a per-graph basis. These are remembered between sessions. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=679

3. Support for newer EcuFlash XML ROM files. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=800

4. Supports logging of two GM intake air temperature sensors. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=824

5. Optional conversion of one GM air temperature sensor to stock for use with the GM MAFs. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=720

6. XP-look styling so that buttons and other GUI elements have a native look and feel on Windows XP and newer operating systems.

7. New higher-resolution icons throughout for Windows Vista.

8. Custom logging – now log a variety of derived (“Hz/RPM”) and rarely-needed (clutch-in status) values with a user-defined mathematical formula. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=664

9. Custom MUT-II logging. Define your own named MUT-II commands along with a user-defined mathematical formula to compute the MUT-II value from the byte read from the stock ECU. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=736

10. NLTS rev limit raised.

11. -RomEdit version of ECU+ Win can now highlight traced map cells. Select a region of a captured .ecd file, and the software will highlight just the stock ECU map cells that are used in that region. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=446&start=15

12. Added support for Auto Meter gauge wideband O2 sensor. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=833

13. New command-line option that will automatically start a capture session when ECU+ Win is started.

14. Graphical update of AVR and DSP firmware. The DSP firmware update is a wizard that saves and restores your settings before and after the update, making it simple. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=768

15. DSP firmware update supports update from all prior silver box firmware versions.

16. New anti-stall feature to help with VTA blow-off setups.

17. 2G DSM EDM transmission ratios now supported. Allow 5th gear pulls in the dyno analysis.

18. Configurable display of TPS as a percentage rather than a voltage. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=784

19. Improved tooltips and graphing throughout – graphs now put grid lines in more sensible spots under certain zoom conditions, and a zero-line is shown if needed. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=802 Mouse-wheel support added to graphs. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=826 Fixed graph tooltip flicker on Vista.

20. Fail-safe rev limit. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=822

21. Internal gear calculation, with defaults for all supported vehicles. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=825

22. Boost control. Controllable on an RPM and gear basis and includes overboost cut. The world's most-requested ECU+ feature. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=874

23. Gear-based tweaks for fuel and timing. Run different boost, timing and fuel values for each gear. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=829

24. Massively-improved drag race analysis. Shows run statistics for multiple runs in parallel, including shift times and trap speeds. Also includes drag racing tips. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=788

25. Added overlay management dialog box – add, remove, re-order and shift overlays much more simply than before. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=851

26. Added support for the PLX EGT adapter. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=857

27. Added sidebar help to all configuration screens. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=860

28. Many internal changes and bug fixes to the ECU+ Head Unit Settings dialogs. Added grid Copy and Paste functionality. Lots of bugs fixed. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=853

29. MUT-II logging support for 1995-1996 DSMs. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=831

30. Friendly COM port names. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=852

31. Auto-connect command-line option for ECU+ Win. http://www.ecuplus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=760

I'll crank out a beta tomorrow and post it for download. I'm sure the two or three people who still read these forums will be very excited!

Yay, all two of us chimed in now!!!

Superb!

Tom -quick questions:

1. What BCS are you using? Stock or GM?
2. If GM - Could you estimate a starting point on WGDC for 23psi?
3. Do you have detailed instructions on how to wire up the GM BCS to work with the ECU+

This is simply amazing Tom. Thank you very much. I knew I held onto my ECU+ for a reason and your hard work is it. Im with everyone else. Using 1 logger instead of trying to sync up 2 logs is going to be a pure joy. Just a quick question. How good of a job do you think one of those new NETBOOKS will do with this software?

If it's one of the XP ones, it should be ok. The ECU+ software isn't too resource-intensive. Screen size might be an issue - you won't be able to see that much at once.

1. GM.
2. You'll have to tune it yourself, but with the stock EVO turbo I'd say 80%. Doesn't take long to figure out.
3. Of course!

I downloaded all of the new software. Looks good. But being I have the latest ecu plus silver version, am I correct in that I dont have to open the box and start moving things around?

If everything is a go, I will have some real world logs tomorrow with the new software. Its 2:45am and I am tempted to take the car for a spin right now lol. Damn work!

You're a brave man to update that late and have to drive the car the next day. Even I wouldn't do that!

Tom

;-) "too long" is subjective My car is a pure race car so tuning it on the street is a practice in heart rate control every time. Don't need it taken away by the cops right now!

Yes sir. Whenever I get a new mod, I am like a kid in a candy store. I always install and test the same or next day.

Anyone get a part number for the GM boost selonoid?
